Artist’s Statement: My concept for the Rebuild the Internet Project was to envision the Internet as one massive highway. The Highway signs that told drivers what food was available at the next exit would instead be advertising internet based food companies, like UberEats or DoorDash. Highway signs advertising entertainment, would be point Internet surfers to Youtube or Netflix. All the exit labels would be IP address, the internet’s version of addresses for websites. The intention was to explore how the Internet’s forms of Commerce and Navigation would be adapted in that the physical world. I accomplished this by drawing Road Signs that would be on the Highway version of the Internet, with pens and colored markers. Thank you
